Bio of filmmaker Christopher M. Long

Christopher M. Long is a Producer, director, writer, Actor, sometimes musician, and a one-time podcaster born in Boston Massachusetts, on January 9th, 1982. He is mostly, known for making films within the thriller, horror, and action genres. He moved to and grew up in Southern Florida, where at the early age of seven started to take karate lessons, and not long after that, he picked up playing the drums, and piano. By 1990, Christopher took up writing short stories and later, on screenplays, he also started making short films with his friends in 93'. His first short film was called a vampire film called "Sundown, and followed that up with "The Demon in the Mirror" the following year. He would continue on making short films and writing throughout the 90s, and by 1996 he would also start working on theater plays as well, although that venture was short-lived. His last play worked on was in a high-school theater class play in 2001 called Drive-in.
As the early 2000s
rolled on into the later part of the decade, Christopher M. Long
would continue working on various film-based projects, taking up a
lot of the film project functions as well, including producing,
acting, directing, writing scripts, doing soundtrack music, even film
editing, lighting, and camera work.
In 2005, he started doing camera
work for local TV stations in the New Hampshire area, which lasted
until 2009, when he decided to fully focus back on just making films.
2003 he started one of his first short film series called Mickey and
the Midnight Vultures. In all, there have been about five short films
from this series that have been filmed.
In 2013,
Christopher upped his filmmaking game, as he started to show more
stylistic tendencies to Sam Raimi, one of his professed filmmaking
heroes. The film making style shined through in several of his series of films that
he started making, including "The Haunting Dead series, and "Dead Haunt" series. To add to these series of short films that he would partake in
making through the 2010s and into the 2020s would also be “The Shrink”
which has five different films made. The shrink is about a homicidal
shrink who kills his patients, “Through the eyes of Madness”,
which is about a cursed book that drives people who try to read it
insane has four films in the series this , and “They come at
night”, about people who have mutated into monsters, that stalk and kill the
remaining living humans has three in this series. All three series are
in the thriller and horror genres and have also added to his film making catalog. Other notable works in this period for his filmmaking are “Pure Evil”, a horror about a guy who gets possessed by a
demon, “Horror House of the Doomed: a ghost story, the curse of
Morningwood Lane” a found footage documentary-type film about a
satanic murder house, and several other short film series including, “The
Night Hunter”, where he plays a sadistic killer, and the “Bringer
of Death” series, were he plays both a killer, and a good guy taking on duel roles.
By the 2020s, he added more
action to his genre of films including a short film series called The
Hit, where he played a heavy-handed hitman, The Hitman's Dark
Passage, “Where he has to take on his bosses after a hit gone
wrong, Deadeye, where he plays a double-crossed assassin and the
“With deadly intent” were he plays a clean up guy for a less than
reputable crime boss. He has also delved more into the characters
driven insane with the “Descent into Madness series, where his
character gets driven further into madness-with-each-entry.
2023 saw him make more films throughout the year, and he also wrote
recorded, and released ten songs on YouTube. He calls it synth-based
horror rock and metal, even some songs synth-based black metal. In
this batch of songs he made one straight rock song called Dream Girl
(Miss May 1982) written about actress and model Kym Malin, he also
wrote a song about Charles Bronson as well.
As of 2024
spanning three decades of filmmaking, Christopher M Long has 125
credits to his name and experience in several major aspects of
filming. Along the way, he has formed several small independent film
companies. In 2007 he formed Guardian Pictures, in 2012 he formed
Screaming Skulls Productions, then in 2014, he formed Touch of
Vengeance Pictures, and then in 2021 Sleerik H Productions. He also
uses his name as a production company as well, Christopher M Long
Productions.
He mostly takes inspiration from the 70s and
80s grindhouse and exploitation low-budget films. His film influences
are Sam Raimi, John Carpenter, Wes Craven, and to an extent Andy
Sideris amongst others. His actor influences come from Kurt Russell,
Lee van Cleef, Clint Eastwood, John Malkovich, and Charles Bronson,
amongst others. The latter of the list is his biggest hero when it
comes to acting. He's also a big fan of Canon films. He is also a fan
of Model/turned-actress Kym Malin, who is also one of his favorites.
